Cynthia Gibson

From Childhood Cynthia has been a maker.  Cynthia first discovered wood burning while in Norway onboard the Norwegian Woodturning Cruise and with study, has created her own unique style of pyroengraving.  Her love for fashion and design has proved the perfect inspiration for her work. Cynthia's pyroengraving techniques are taught to students worldwide. Her collaborative work has been published in journals nationally and internationally including  American Craft Magazine, Pyrography magazine, American Woodturner, Charleston magazine, Woodturning UK, British Woodworking, Woodworker West and Creative Wood New Zealand. Cynthia’s collaborative works are included in noted corporate and private collections.


Cynthia was invited to showcase and demonstrate her artwork in Turkey with the International Wood Culture Society’s World Wood Day 2015. She has presented for prestigious seminars in Norway, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, the UK and USA.


Cynthia lives and works just outside Spartanburg, South Carolina.
